Holiday Hearthlore
Holiday Hearthlore is the way PSHC holds the full circle of celebrations across the year. It gathers the holidays, the seasonal thresholds, and the moments that return year after year into one gentle rhythm. This is the broad view—the map of the year as it moves through a home, carrying its moods, traditions, and familiar comforts.
It’s the part of PSHC that pays attention to how a year feels as it unfolds: the quiet shift of light, the return of familiar colors, the small rituals that anchor a household, and the celebrations that give each season its character. Holiday Hearthlore doesn’t tell anyone how to celebrate or what a season “should” mean. Instead, it offers a steady framework—a way of noticing the natural turning points and the cultural moments that shape the atmosphere of a home.
This introduction is where the rhythm begins. It’s where the year is seen as a whole, not as a list of dates, but as a living cycle of gatherings, preparations, and returning joys. It’s a gentle orientation point for anyone stepping into PSHC, giving them a sense of the landscape before they wander into the details.
Within this circle live the Hearthcraft Hallmarks.
Hearthcraft Hallmarks
Each Hallmark is one specific holiday or seasonal day within the year’s rhythm. These are the moments that stand out—the celebrations, the first days of each season, and the small turning points that shape how the year feels. A Hallmark is a single point on the path, with its own atmosphere and character.
Hallmarks include days such as New Year’s Day, Valentine’s Day, St. Patrick’s Day, Easter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Friendsgiving, Christmas, and the first days of Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter. Each one holds its own place in the flow of the year.
Within each Hallmark live the Companions.
Companions
Companions are the specific elements that belong to a Hallmark. They are the items, motifs, foods, colors, and familiar presences that gather around a celebration and help it feel like itself. Roses and paper hearts for Valentine’s Day. Pumpkins and lanterns for Halloween. Evergreens and ribbons for Christmas. Tulips and pastels for the first day of Spring.
Each Companion has its own page and its own quiet meaning within the PSHC world.
The Structure at a Glance
Together, they create a cozy, folkloric way of moving through the seasons—one shaped by atmosphere, tradition, and the small things that return year after year.
